Intergenerational Program Calendar

January 13, 2008 - Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration - Chairperson - Charles Nightingale
    We ask parishioners to join a choral to learn and perform the new MLK Birthday Song.  In addition, we would like a create and perform an inter-generational dance tribute presentation

February 5, 2008 - Fat Tuesday
- Chairperson -
    The intent for this event is to delve into the symbolism of Fat Tuesday and to dress in “Carnival Colors” and have a “Great Time” while we learn about the importance of the Lenten Season.  Please note the chairperson is not listed because to date, I have not contacted the Brotherhood of St. Andrews.  This is their annual Shove Tuesday Supper.

March 16, 2008 - Passion March, visit to the Little Village Community - Chairperson - Juliett Orr
    This is the Saturday before Palm Sunday and we hope to take our van and cars down to Little Village and watch the Passion March as a multicultural event.

April 27, 2008 - Spring Bling - Chairperson - Deloris Kellup, Edna Saunders
    The intent of this event is to help parishioners understand how, when, and why the church used white,  Each guild is asked to find the symbolic meaning of white within the church an provide a presentation. We asked that all parishioners come to church “Clothed in White” for the “High Tea” or fancy coffee hour that will be provided after the 10:30  Eucharist.

May 25, 2008 - Mothers of the Bible - Chairperson - Jo Thelma Hill
    Each guild is asked to prepare a presentation on a mother from the bible to be given during Mass.  This will also be an outreach of the single mothers of the community to join us and provide a woman’s health day program.

June 29, 2008 - Fathers of the Bible and closing program - Chairpersons - Jim Moore,Charles Nightingale
    Each guild is asked to prepare a presentation on a father from the bible to be given during Mass,  This will also be a outreach to single fathers of the community to join us and provide a woman’s health day program.

This is a list of the activities to be conducted during service as part of our intergenerational Christian Formation program.  We hope to continue Father Porter’s vision of  “Voices from the Pews”.  We also hope that these programs will provide an opportunity for every parishioner to use their voice and give praises unto GOD.
